YUMMY! I had to share this little luncheon idea, although it wasn’t my idea to begin with. I originally found it HERE - one of my very favorite blogs! I'm not sure where she got it from originally. (I'm not even sure if I am doing that link correctly since it is the first time I'm trying it)! Now, for anyone that knows me - you know that I am not all that creative and I did not cut out cool shapes. YET! I am inspired though! Needless to say, I’ve copied the idea! I try to give Sophia one of these fun lunches once a week...she loves it. She even likes them for breakfast. The presentation is fun, she gets a variety of foods...and it’s special (that’s the whole point really).
She is such a good eater that making them is really a piece of cake for me. But honestly, I think it's a good idea in that it DOES really help to ensure that we (parents) ARE giving our children a variety of foods! I hope we can continue this - and involve Demetri in his own way soon too! I have his muffin tin and cups all ready and waiting. I recommend getting the silicone baking cups to do this! They are much easier to clean and they are very sturdy. I've even put things like yogurt, lentils, and hummus in them and it's great because they don't soak through. Plus, I use them for all my muffin and cupcake baking!
Do you have a fun lunch idea for kids? Please share it with me ...we’re always looking for fun things to try here (translated: looking for more ideas to copy!) I am probably one of the LEAST creative people I know....so all ideas are welcome in this house! I love to learn new things!
